'You are the average of the top 5 people you spend the most time with.' -Jim Rohn
My husband told me this and it hasn't left my brain for months! It's helped me organize my life, reminds me who I share my time with and how that effects my life. It has really helped me stay focused and supported. I'm so lucky to have a wonderful network of people in my life that lift me up and inspire me.
Let this quote sink in and marinade in your brain for a bit. Then ask yourself, who are my top five?
Secret Healthy Habits for a successful week:
Prep, prep and more prep.
The more healthy food I prepare ahead of time, the more likely I am to grab that carrot from this fridge. I usually spend hours in the kitchen on the weekend preparing for a healthy week ahead. Feeling bored in the kitchen by yourself? Invite a friend over and feed them. Two hands make it more fun and it's a chance to connect.
Make the freezer your friend. Freeze portion size soups for easy weeknight meals.
Spend time at the beginning of the week, looking at your schedule and loosely planning out a menu. Start by opening up your freezer, fridge and pantry and use what you already spent money on first. Then follow up with a trip to the grocery store, with a shopping list in hand.
Workout Buddies. Being accountable and working out with others is a real motivator. I do this each week, and it really helps me move and stay active. Some of these women have become my dearest friends. I love the support and encouragement to stay active and healthy.
Plan in Play. Life is too short to work all the time and not play. Plan in time to relax and have fun. You so deserve to laugh and hang out with family, friends and unwind. Truly a best practice of healthy living.
