Sign me up...this past Saturday I was lucky enough to participate in a free workout at a new Crossfit in Hoboken, Hudson River CrossFit.
They opened up about a block away from me so I gave it a try with a few of my favorite workout women.
We were warmly greeted by Ashley Mak, the instructor and owner John Franklin. The new studio is actually an old garage, which instantly sets the scene for a cool, rough 'factory-type' workout. Nothing pretty, just good old fashion hard work, mixed with sweat. Just the type of workout I like.
Since this past Saturday was our Hoboken St. Paddy's Day celebration, Ashley used that as our theme for the workout of the day. We moved and grooved to quick upbeat Irish music and got the job done. The energy of the class was amazing. Very motivating and encouraging, the whole class seemed to be really postive. It was such a great way to begin the weekend.
If you're in town, head on over to HRCF and give it a try. They offer a Fundementals Program (beginner series) every Saturday morning. This sets you up for success and prepares you for what a regular class would be like.
It set my weekend off on the right foot and I was motivated to eat well, stay hydrated and be more pleasant to my family. Workouts always have a way of brightening my spirit.
Wishing you all a happy, healthy week. Keep moving your body and give HRCF a try. They're a terrific bunch of guys with a healthy attitude on making fitness fun. Thanks HRCF, I had a blast! See you again soon.
