Adding more variety into your healthy lifestyle not only makes you feel better, it helps your skin look it's best as well. Giving you a nice glow and keeping you hydrated.
The variety of colors in all different fruits and vegetables provides us with plenty of different vitamins, phytonutrients and antioxidants, not to mention fiber. And eating more REAL food gives us plenty of energy to go about our day with a smile.
When I ask people how many servings of fruits and vegetables they eat, the always seem to think they're getting enough. However, when we write it out on paper or in a log...there's always room for improvement. Even for me...some days I'm all over the place and I'm not eating enough large salads, leafy greens and veggies....my body knows, it's asking for them. I try to make up for it the next day and eat an overall healthy diet most of the time, not getting too nutty, crazy about it.
Easy ways to add in more color:
throw a piece of fruit in your bag everyday
blend up a combination of fruit & veggies
buy already prepared vegetable sticks...ready to munch
frozen berries.. for a quick smoothie or salad topping
be brave and try a different green...swiss chard, collard or dandelion greens YOU CAN DO IT!
This week I encourage you to add more colors into your diet and try a new fruit or vegetable. We all tend to rotate through the same few meals that we know how to make....challenge yourself and your tastebuds to try something different.
Wishing you all a colorful, week packed with the power of plants.
