What are you doing each day to take care of your health?
We all know that true change doesn't happen overnight. It takes time and commitment. It's the same when it comes to our health, it's a journey. Today, let's get down to business and talk healthy habits in an effort to inspire you to take a look at your own daily rituals. And see where and how you can adjust at a pace that's right for you.
I'm sure you're doing things already that are really good for you. Or maybe not. Wherever you are on your path to wellness, today is a new day for a fresh start.
Forget about the past and let's move forward together.
When I think about my own journey of health and recall days of huge amounts of diet soda and chemical protein bars for DINNER...I want to kringe. However, over time I learned more and more about how to eat-to-live and take better care of myself. Learning to listen to my body along the way and staying connected to what feels the best.
Lately, I've been listening to Sid Garza Hillman and his podcast called Approaching the Natural. He's a certified nutritionist and wellness director out at the Stanford Inn in Medicino, California. He talks about small steps to getting back to what's natural and listening to your body. It's been such a pleasure to listen to each week and be reminded to take baby steps in a healthy direction and become more present and aware of what we do each day. He's also really funny to listen to, so it makes me laugh as I workout, walk or cook while listening to his weekly podcast.
Lots of people talk about habits and rituals and there's a lot to learn from people who are happy, healthy and successful in their life. What you decide to do each day has a huge impact on your health and happiness. And I'm not just talking about diet and exercise. Taking a look at your life in a broader sense thinking about your career, your community, creativity, relationships, mindfulness, etc.
Today I hope to encourage you to take better care of yourself. Examine how you spend your time each day. Do things that make you happy each and everyday. And find time to be present and aware of how you are in charge of your health. Even if it's just for a few minutes.
Try this today: take a walk, call an old friend, journal, try something new, eat real food, drink more water and keep breathing, stay calm, you're worth it!
Wishing you a week of wellness and happiness. Here's to healthy lasting habit change and a better you.
