I'm proud to admit that I a totally You Tube channel nerd.
I geek out while cooking and listen/watch Stanford University Lectures. It's become a weekly obsession, (especially the Last Lecture series) that I look forward to and love learning from a school I probably would have never gotten into when applying for college. Hell, I'm not sure I even knew it existed...being from the other side of the country in my small town roots of Tolland.
I mostly focus on business, leadership and inspirational entrepreneur lessons and one of the last lectures I enjoyed, the professor gave a great quote. It stopped me in my tracks, mid-cooking and I wrote it down to remember it. It was in reference to the corporate world and running a business, but I think it also pertains to our health.
'Run it like you own it.'
I even used this in a talk I gave the other night to a group of local runners. I think it's great to think of your health in those terms. Taking charge of it and finding peace and happiness. Own the responsibility. Run your health and learn what works for you and what makes you feel your best. Remembering that what works for one person, might not work for you. We're all different, unique individuals.
Today I challenge you to 'run it like you own it' and look inside yourself for the motivation and courage to take your health into your own hands. Be powerful, fearless, strong and committed to being the best version of yourself. Reach out for help from people you trust and take small steps to a better you. Make it a wonderful week.
