(why I'm bending my legs?!! don't know...like I'm not short enough)
Moving your body doesn't have to mean killing yourself in a spin class that you hate. It can simply be a walk in your neighborhood.
I'm personally not one to sign up for a spin class. The whole class I feel trapped on the bike and keep checking my watch to see when it's over. Over the past few years movement and exercise has changed. I've gotten much for relaxed and change up my routine enough to keep it fun and fresh. I'm not the crazy loony tune I was in years past making my way to the gym doing things I hate. Today I have a much more balanced approach and have found some motivating fitness friends that keep me moving.
My Week in Review:
On a weekly basis I loosely plan out my workouts for the week. Connecting with friends and listening to podcasts as I walk or run. Most weeks look like this. Walks, yoga, Local Barre (ballet barre style class), run, more yoga, free weights, jump rope and sleep. Now it's not always perfect and life takes over and plans change, but I try to move my body in a healthy way each day.
Easy Ways to Make Fitness your Friend
start off small 5-10 minutes a day
find a buddy
tune in: listen to music or a podcast
try a new class
social fitness: you tube workouts, pinterest boards, free ideas
take the stairs ALL THE TIME (easy one)
do squats/push ups/yoga moves as a quick break from sitting at your desk all day
There are so many ways to add in more movement to your life. Try one of these today and see how you feel. Be gentle with yourself and have fun. Feel free to reach out if you have any other suggestions or questions.
Wishing you all the very best Fall. I hope I run into you outside or around town. Enjoy these cool days and beautiful colors.
