This time of year we all find ourselves at some farm stand or pumpkin farm. Everyone's happy, picking out apples, pumpkins, pies and cornstalks. Next thing you know you have a cider donut in your hand and your healthy habits are out the window!
I know this because...hey look I've been there. This photo was last year's evidence of 'getting into the spirit!' YUM!
It really was not as tasty as it looks, but I was cold and hot cider and sugary donut hit the spot.
This season let's make some changes.
Honor yourself and your body by preparing a healthy breakfast, maybe a fun, fall picnic lunch and bite into that real food apple instead. Believe me, you'll be glad you did!
We all have those moments where life takes over and we cave for a fun, fall moment. It's OK. Don't be hard on yourself. Enjoy it and pick right back up again and start fresh.
I've come up with a list of Healthy Habits that I rely on to keep me on track. I hope you find them helpful as well.
Wishing you all the very best October...xo
Fall into Easy Healthy Habits
take time to prepare healthy meals & snacks
slow down, journal, take long walks & set intentions
warm up with hot tea or hot water & lemon
make homemade soups for quick healthy, weeknight meals
add warm, roasted veggies to your green salads
get out in the sunshine...enjoy this crisp, breezy weather
live in the moment
keep up with your workout routine or start moving your body
hang out with people that encourage you & your healthy lifestyle
sleep in or take a quick nap to restore your energy levels
carve a pumpkin & roast the seeds
focus on family, making memories, pumpkin picking & corn mazes...not cider donuts. :(
