My recent purchase of the Vivofit has inspired me to get out there and MOVE! Banking on all the extra nature energy of spring I'm suddenly back in love with NYC & New Jersey and I'm enjoying the soft spring breezes and warm temps. This type of weather has me thinking about who and what motivates and inspires me.
When I speak to groups about living well and taking charge of your health I always mention this quote. 'You're the average of the top five people you spend time with.' -Jim Rohn. I try to remember that to feel supported and encouraged you need to surround yourself with a healthy community. People who motivate you to be well. Along with moving your body, honoring your health and eating more plant foods.
Now I'm not saying to drop all your unhealthy friends. We all have those fun people in our lifes. (Maybe you're an inspiration to them!) Here are some ways I stay inspired and connected to my healthy community.
Podcasts: Listening to others that offer weekly motivation to live a better life always encourages me to stay the course. My two favs right now. Rich Roll and Sid Garza Hillman.
Walking with Friends: Meeting friends to connect, moving our bodies and catching up is always better than eating brunch. Of course you can do that after, but a good walk always makes me feel alive.
Connecting with Family: Quick calls, texts or emails to say hello always makes you and others feel better. Reach out to someone today. If can really mean so much.
Wishing you all the very best Memorial Day weekend! I'll be camping with friends and family and can't wait to be in nature! Have a wonderul day.
In good health,
Does your office or group want me to visit? Feel free to email me at email@example.com. Let's brainstorm some healthy ideas and motivate people to eat more real food.
