Walking into Trader Joe's the other day, armed with my list and reusable bags I was ready to shop. As I grabbed the shopping cart and made my way in, I passed one man coming out with only two items in his cart and a big smile on his face. I love seeing people smile, we need more people like this in the world.
His two items; wine....and lots of it and a tub of chocolate chip cookies. I laughed to myself because this is a sight I see here all the time. The bargain wine section is always busy and people are loading up boxes and cartfuls to purchase. And the cookies, well that's easy. Who's not a cookie fan?
Looking back I can remember days of wine and cookies, but today my list is so much different. Things like bananas, spinach, avocados, watermelon and almond butter are what makes it's way into my basket.
As I continued shopping and make my way to checkout, I'm fascinated peaking into everyone's cart or basket. I notice all types of interesting things like the frozen food isle is bustling with activity. Bags of pre-prepared meals ready to heat and eat. Premade everything and samples of the latest baked good and ice cream ready for you to try a sample.
In this crazy world of processed food it's easy to get swept away with the convenience of it all. Simply opening up a box or bag and not thinking too much beyond that. This week let's challenge ourselves to eat more real fruits and vegetables, be more aware our plate and how we feel.
Wishing you all a week of delicious real food meals, smiles and sunshine!
