I always love for to hear people talk and worry about the 'sugar' in fruit.
As though it was like eating white table sugar. Yikes!
What people should be thinking about is how healthy whole fruit is for you. With a single piece of fruit you get all the fiber, vitamins and minerals, not to mention all the variety of color, antioxidants and flavors. I like to call it nature's candy. The ultimate fast food, grab it and go. Keep it in your bag or on your desk to remind you to snack wisely.
Studies show that by eating more sweet fruit and vegetables your cravings for other sugary treats relax.
So next time you're at the store, hang out in the produce section a little longer and pick up something different. Treat yourself to some pre-packaged sliced fruit and enjoy it.
I've been doing fruit only in the morning and find that it improves my digestion, fills me up and is the sweet kick I need to get me moving.
Here's to healthy, fruit-filled holidays and less sweet cravings. Even with all the goodies around.
